This project included significant stabilisation of slipped and unstable portion of the western Waikato river bank using a combination of soil nails and surficial product.
The remediated slope, including drainage reticulation, provided the backbone of which the Waikato river trail path was constructed using retaining walls and boardwalk structures. The scope included a new staircase and paved access of Bryce Street that greatly enhanced user experience.
South work included:
- Slope stabilisation (757 soil nails), steelgrid rock mesh, erosion protection, drill and installation of horizontal drains
- Structures – hand railing, supply and install timber retaining wall
- Civil Works – paving, surface drainage dish channel
- Drainage – slot drains
- Lighting – remounting and recommissioning of existing
North work included:
- Slope stabilisation (1170 soil nails), steelgrid rock mesh, erosion protection
- Structures – handrails, supply and install boardwalk including foundations, handrails and elements
- Civil Works – path, turf reinforced swale
- Drainage – catchpits Novaflow
- Lighting – remounting and recommissioning of existing
