You will receive:
- A 2-year, structured development programme
- Rotations through the company’s business units and secondment opportunities with our industry partners to build a range of experience across the civil infrastructure industry

- Opportunities to gain formal industry certifications and civil qualifications

Civil Internship
This internship is available to tertiary students undertaking civil engineering related studies. The Internship includes:
- 10-week paid internship with rotations through the company’s business units
- Being part of the construction team building challenging projects
- Learning real skills and a solid understanding of how engineering applies to civil construction projects
- Opportunities to gain formal industry certifications and civil skills
- Intern development sessions focused on general career skills

Tertiary Scholarship
Schick is committed to nurturing the next generation of civil construction professionals. Our Tertiary Scholarship program is designed to support school leavers with a passion for building a career in the civil construction industry. In addition to financial assistance, our scholarships offer recipients valuable work experience, setting them up for success in their chosen field.
Eligible Courses
We welcome applications from students enrolled in the following courses:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) – Waikato, Auckland, or Canterbury Universities
- Bachelor of Quantity Surveying – AUT or Massey University
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology – Wintec, Ara, or similar institutions
- Bachelor of Surveying – Otago University
- Diploma of Engineering – Wintec, Ara, or similar institutions
- Diploma of Construction (Quantity Surveying) – Wintec, Ara, or similar institutions
- Diploma of Construction (Surveying) – Unitec
- Other courses such as Finance and Digital/IT will also be considered.
What is included?
- Financial Support: Up to $10,000 to contribute towards the cost of gaining a tertiary qualification in a civil-related field.
- Work Experience: Paid work experience opportunities that provide hands-on industry exposure.
- Internships: Guaranteed internships to help complete your required placement hours.
- Employment Opportunities: Early graduate employment opportunities within Schick or associated companies.
Program Requirements
To fully benefit from the Tertiary Scholarship Program, recipients are required to complete summer work experience with Schick Civil or another Schick Group business. This hands-on experience is an essential part of the scholarship and helps build practical skills crucial for your future career.

Work Experience
Schick Civil has a vision of supporting future generations, therefore we believe in investing in the young people within our communities and helping them grow their careers in the civil construction industry. We are proud to offer gateway work experience, casual work experience (including school holiday work), and summer work experience.
Who is eligible?
Anyone over the age of 15 who can complete holiday work in the Waikato, Christchurch, Nelson or Blenheim areas.
